Storing Kentucky Proud brussels sprouts

Brussels sprouts should be refrigerated immediately after you get them home.  They should be kept in the crisper, and are best if prepared within four days.

Preparing Kentucky Proud brussels sprouts

Soak sprouts head down for 30 minutes in cold salted water.  Cook brussels sprouts in a small amount of liquid until fork tender...about 8 to 10 minutes after the water returns to a boil.  Vitamin C is lost in water, so try to keep the amount of water down to about 1/2 cup of water for each 2 cups of vegetables.  Brussels sprouts are good seasoned with basil, caraway, dill, sage or cumin.
