Oysters "Louisville" You'll need: raw oysters strips of Kentucky Proud bacon, cut in half water chestnuts, halved Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce Wrap strips of bacon around an oyster with a piece of water chestnut in it. Secure with toothpicks. Pour Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce over oysters and broil until bacon is cooked on one side. Turn and broil other side. Serve hot. *** Bourbon Shrimp You'll need: 3 tablespoons butter (do not use margarine!) 4 pounds Kentucky Proud fresh water prawns, peeled and deveined 1/2 cup Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream 1/4 teaspoon salt Melt butter in skillet; add shrimp and saute' until pink and firm. Do not overcook. Splash shrimp with Gourmet Sauce; remove to serving dish and keep warm. Add cream to skillet, scraping bottom of pan with spoon as you mix. Add salt. Heat mixture over medium heat and pour over shrimp. Serve immediately. *** Stuffed Mushrooms You'll need: 24 whole medium size Kentucky Proud mushrooms 1 cup butter, melted 2 small Kentucky Proud onions, chopped 3 cloves Kentucky Proud garlic, minced 1/2 cup minced Kentucky Proud parsley 2 tablespoons flour 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs 1 cup sour cream salt and pepper to taste Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce freshly grated Parmesan cheese Remove and chop mushroom stems. In a medium sized bowl, combine chopped stems, butter, onions, garlic and parsley and mix well. Add flour, bread crumbs, sour cream, salt and pepper. Blend well. Arrange mushroom caps--hollow side up--in a shallow baking dish. Drizzle a small amount of bourbon in each cap and fill with stuffing. Sprinkle tops of mushrooms with Parmesan cheese. Add just enough Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce to cover bottom of baking dish. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 20 minutes. Serve hot. *** Kentucky Beef Stew You'll need: 3 pounds Kentucky Proud beef chuck, cut into 1 1/2 inch cubes salt and freshly ground black pepper 6 tablespoons butter 12-15 small Kentucky Proud onions, peeled 2/3 cup very strong beef stock or undiluted condensed beef broth 1/2 cup Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce 4 large Kentucky Proud garlic cloves 6 Kentucky Proud carrots, peeled and cut into 2 inch strips 4 teaspoons grated fresh lemon peel 4 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley Season meat generously with salt and pepper. Heat butter in large heavy kettle or Dutch oven over medium heat until it bubbles and begins to brown. Add meat, turning each piece to coat with butter; arrange onions over meat. Stir together stock, 1/4 cup Gourmet Sauce and garlic; add to meat. Cover and cook without stirring over very low heat about 2 1/2 hours or until meat is tender. Stir and add carrots. Gently stir in lemon peel, remaining Gourmet Sauce and 2 tablespoons parsley. Taste and add more salt, if necessary. Ladle into shallow soup plates. Sprinkle with remaining parsley. *** Shish-Kabobs (The Southern Way) You'll need: 3 pounds Kentucky Proud sirloin steak cut into 1 1/2 inch x 1 1/2 inch cubes 4 cloves Kentucky Proud garlic, crushed 4 tablespoons soy sauce 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon pepper 1/2 cup lemon juice 1/3 cup Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce 3/4 cup ginger ale 2 tablespoons sugar Kentucky Proud onions, green peppers, mushrooms and tomatoes, cut into pieces Combine marinade ingredients and mix well. Place meat cubes in container, cover with marinade and allow to stand at room temperature for 2 hours or refrigerate overnight. Skewer meat alternately with onions, mushrooms, peppers and tomatoes. Grill over charcoal or under broil until medium rare. Serve immediately. *** Shrimp Saute' A La Maker's You'll need: 1 stick of butter 1/2 pound Kentucky Proud mushrooms, sliced 1 Kentucky Proud green pepper, diced 1 pound cleaned Kentucky Proud freshwater prawns, cooked 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper 3 tablespoons lemon juice 1 teaspoon each garlic power, parsley, Tabasco sauce 2/3 cup Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce cooked rice Saute' the sliced mushrooms and green pepper in butter. Add shrimp. Combine all other ingredients and pour over shrimp. Cook until the mixture is heated. Serve over rice. Serves 4. *** "The Mark of a Master" Meatloaf You'll need: 2 Kentucky Proud eggs 1 tablespoon salt 2 cups cracker crumbs 1 1/2 pounds Kentucky Proud ground chuck 1/2 pound Kentucky Proud ground sausage 1/2 cup each chopped Kentucky Proud onion, shredded Kentucky Proud cheddar cheese 1/2 cup Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce Mix all ingredients (except cheese). Pack into 9x5 pan or shape into loaf in shallow pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Baste with additional Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce and sprinkle with cheese. Bake 10 minutes longer. Serves 6 *** Maker's Mark Classic Baked Beans You'll need: 2 16 ounce cans pork and beans 1 medium Kentucky Proud onion, diced 1/2 teaspoon dried mustard 1 Kentucky Proud green pepper, diced 2/3 cup Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce 2 slices Kentucky Proud bacon Combine all ingredients in a baking dish. Top with bacon. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour. *** Maker's Pendennis Pork You'll need: 4 large Kentucky Proud Butterfly pork chops (or subsitute 4 large boneless Kentucky Proud chicken breasts) 1 tablespoon corn starch 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon pepper 1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce 1/2 cup pineapple juice 3 tablespoons soy sauce 1 medium Kentucky Proud onion, diced 1 Kentucky Proud green bell pepper, diced 2/3 cup Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Place pork in baking dish. Mix all other ingredients and pour over pork. Bake covered for 1 1/2 hours. Uncover and bake another 1/2 hour. Baste every 1/2 hour. Serves four. *** Maker's Spicy Cajun Shrimp You'll need: 2 pounds raw, peeled, deveined Kentucky Proud freshwater prawns 1/3 cup butter, melted 2 tablespoons white wine 2 tablespoons lemon juice 2 teaspoons garlic powder 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper 1/3 cup Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce Place shrimp in large dish. Mix other ingredients and pour over shrimp. Refrigerate 1 hour. Broil about 4 inches from heat for 6-10 minutes, turning once and basting. Serves 6. *** Maker's Savory Beef Stroganoff You'll need: 1 pound 1" Kentucky Proud beef cubes 4 tablespoons butter 1/2 pound sliced Kentucky Proud mushrooms 1/3 cup chopped Kentucky Proud green bell pepper 1/3 cup chopped Kentucky Proud onion 1 cup water 1/2 cup sour cream 1/2 cup Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce hot cooked noodles In skillet, brown beef, remove. In same skillet, add butter and cook mushrooms, onion and green pepper until tender. Return beef, add water and Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce. Heat to boil. Reduce heat, simmer 1 hour. Stir in sour cream. Serve over noodles. Serves 4. *** Maker's Better Cheddar Burger You'll need: 1 pound Kentucky Proud ground chuck 1/2 cup shredded Kentucky Proud cheddar cheese 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs 2 tablespoons minced Kentucky Proud onion 1/2 teaspoon salt 4 tablespoons Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce Combine ingredients. Form into 4 patties. Grill 4 inches from medium coals for 6 minutes. Turn patties, baste with Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce and grill 4 to 5 minutes more. Serves 4. *** Maker's Mark Four Seasons Steak You'll need: 2 pounds trimmed Kentucky Proud steak 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1 clove Kentucky Proud garlic, minced 1/2 teaspoon pepper 1/3 cup Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce Place steak in baking dish and cover with remaining ingredients. Cover and refrigerate 12 to 24 hours, turning steak twice. Remove steak, reserving marinade. Cover and grill steak 4 inches from medium coals, turning and brushing 2 times with marinade. Grill steak 5 minutes per side for rare. Cut beef diagonally across grain into thin slices. Serves 6. *** Maker's Gourmet Grilled Lamb Chops You'll need: 2 pounds Kentucky Proud lamb chops, 1/2 inch thick 1/3 cup apple jelly 1 clove Kentucky Proud garlic, minced 1/3 cup Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce Heat jelly, garlic and Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce over medium heat, stirring constantly until jelly is melted. Cover and grill lamb chops 5 to 6 inches from medium coals. Turn and brush 3 times with sauce. Grill lamb chops 12 to 16 minutes for medium. Serve with remaining sauce. *** Maker's Gourmet Grilled Pork Chops You'll need: 4 Kentucky Proud pork chops, 1 inch thick 3 tablespoons soy sauce 1/2 teaspoon ginger 1/3 cup Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce Mix last three ingredients, pour over pork chops in dish, cover, and refrigerate 2 hours. Grill pork chops 5 to 6 inches from medium coals, turning and brushing with marinade 3 times. Grill 20 to 25 minutes. *** Maker's Grilled Swordfish Alfresco You'll need: 2 pounds swordfish (you can substitute halibut or salmon) 1/3 cup Italian dressing 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1/3 cup Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce Mix last three ingredients; place fish in dish and cover with marinade. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours. Remove fish, reserving marinade. Grill fish about 4 inches from medium coals for 10 minutes. Turn and brush with marinade. Grill another 10 to 15 minutes, until fish flakes. Serves 4 to 6. *** Maker's Honey-Glazed Chicken You'll need: 3 pounds Kentucky Proud chicken pieces 3 tablespoons melted butter 1/3 cup Kentucky Proud honey 1/3 cup Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce Combine sauce and honey. Brush chicken with butter, sauce mixture. Cover and grill chicken, bone side down, 5 to 6 inches from medium coals 15 to 25 minutes. Turn chicken. Cover and grill, turning and brushing 3 times with sauce, 20 to 30 minutes or until chicken is done. Serves 4 to 6. *** Maker's Cheese Ball You'll need: 1 pound butter 1 pound Roquefort or Bleu Cheese 1/2 cup Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce 1/4 cup sesame seeds Cream butter and cheese with sesame seeds. Add gourmet sauce slowly. Shape into ball. Refrigerate 24 hours. Serve with crackers or beaten biscuits.
