Kentucky Corn Facts

  • Corn is grown in every county in Kentucky, mostly Western Kentucky.
  • Corn grown in Kentucky is used mainly for livestock feed.
  • 2005 corn grown "for all purposes" top producing counties: Union, Christian, Henderson, Daviess, Graves
  • Corn for grain production was estimated at 173.3 million bushels (2004).
  • Estimated that 152 bushels per acre were harvested (2004).
  • Acreage harvested for grain averaged 1.14 millions acres (2004).
  • Kentucky ranks 13th in the nation in corn for grain production (2004).
