Meat Processing in Kentucky
Kentucky's mobile processing unit was approved for the processing and sale of poultry products in May 2001. The unit was approved for shrimp processing in the fall of 2001. Poultry training dates for producers that want to use the MPU during 2004 will be held May 19 and 20. Training dates for shrimp producers will be June 16. Bookmark this site to check back on shrimp training dates. Producers interested in using the MPU must first schedule and receive training on using the facility by contacting Sue Weant at (859) 233-3056.
