FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky’s hard-working dairy farmers will be honored in special events during June Dairy Month.
“I want to thank the farmers who produce the top-quality dairy products we all enjoy every day,” Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer said. “Kentucky’s dairy industry is poised for better times ahead. Dairy producers and related dairy interests have formed the Kentucky Dairy Development Council, created a strategic plan and held a series of meetings to help producers improve their bottom lines. I am optimistic about the future of dairy farming in Kentucky.”
For the second straight year, Kentucky’s dairy farmers will be honored at Farmers/Dairy Night June 6 at Lexington’s Applebee’s Park, home of the Lexington Legends baseball team. The June Dairy Month festivities will open June 3 at the Monroe County June Dairy Picnic. Other June Dairy Month events include:
June 4 – Barren County June Dairy Farmers Appreciation Picnic

June 11 – Metcalfe County June Dairy Farmer Appreciation Picnic
June 16 – Hart County June Dairy Day
