FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky dairy interests will discuss a strategic plan for the industry in the Kentucky Dairy Development Council’s first annual meeting Feb. 28 at the Cave City Convention Center.
The KDDC will seek producer input on the strategic plan at the meeting. The completed plan will be submitted to the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board to seek support for programs such as dairy improvements, a Young Farmer Program and industry expansion.
Also at the meeting, the new KDDC board of directors will be installed and the president, vice president and secretary will be elected. A springing Holstein heifer worth $2,000 will be given away in a drawing.
Registration and exhibits will open at 8:30 a.m. CST. There is no charge to attend the meeting, and a buffet luncheon will be served.
Pre-registration is required. To pre-register, or for more information, contact Eunice Schlappi, the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s dairy marketing specialist, at (502) 564-4983 or at eunice.schlappi@ky.gov.
