Four Kentucky beekeeping schools coming up

Beekeepers can pick up valuable tips for the upcoming season in four Kentucky schools scheduled for February and March.

 

The third annual South Central Kentucky Beekeeping School will kick off the series Feb. 3 at the L.D. Brown Expo Center in Bowling Green. The Allen County Beekeepers Association will host the event. The fourth annual Bluegrass Beekeeping School will offer three out-of-state experts, including a researcher from Canada. The school is scheduled Feb. 10 at Kentucky State University in Frankfort. The Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s Rodger Bingham, “Kentucky Joe” on the CBS-TV series “Survivor” in 2001, will give opening remarks. The second annual Audubon Beekeeping School will be held March 3 at the Family Life Center in Corydon. Watch for more information at http://stonehillhoney.com. Kent Williams, president of the Lake Barkley Beekeepers Association, will host a school at his home in Wingo March 7-10.
