New products on display at Mid-States Expo

KAN staff report

Spring is still a few months away, but the season will be on the minds of everyone inside the warm confines of the South Wing of the Kentucky Exposition Center at the Mid-States Horticultural Expo Jan. 4-5 in Louisville.

Landscaping and nursery businesses will have an opportunity to gain a competitive edge by being the first to see the latest products showcased in more than 500 booths and getting the best selection for the spring season.

The Kentucky Department of Agriculture will pay half the booth cost for any Kentucky growers who exhibit at the show. Contact Bill Holleran at the KDA’s Office of Agriculture Marketing and Product Promotion at (502) 564-4983 to find out more.

Wholesale growers, manufacturers, distributors and service businesses will have a wide variety of horticultural products on display. They include: container, field-grown and greenhouse plants; turf, fertilizers and chemicals, irrigation equipment and other tools and equipment of the lawn care, landscaping and nursery trades.

About 3,000 wholesale growers, landscape professionals, retailers, manufacturers and distributors are expected to attend. The Expo is scheduled to run from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. EST Thursday, Jan. 4, and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5.

The Expo is a partnership of the Kentucky Nursery & Landscape Association, the Tennessee Nursery & Landscape Association and the Southern Nursery Association.
