, Ky. -- Dairy producers from the U.S. will compete
for more than $40,000 in premiums at the 42 nd annual
Kentucky National Shows and Sales April 8-10 at the
Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center in Louisville .
Approximately
300 head of dairy cattle with Kentucky National status
will be exhibited during the five shows and sales, sponsored
by the Kentucky Ayrshire Club, the Kentucky Brown Swiss
Breeders' Association, the Kentucky Guernsey Breeders'
Association, the Kentucky Holstein Cattle Club, the
Kentucky Jersey Cattle Club, and the Kentucky Department
of Agriculture. The event is coordinated by KDA's Division
of Show and Fair Promotion.
“While
attending the Kentucky National, dairy producers will
have countless opportunities to improve their herds'
genetics,” said Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer.
“Every year, this event attracts the best dairy animals
to be found in Kentucky as well as surrounding states.”
“All
of the animals that will be shown and sold at the Kentucky
National have qualified for this event and have met
type and production requirement standards as established
by the Department,” said Bryan Proctor of the Division
of Show and Fair Promotion.
