FRANKFORT, Ky. — Some of the country’s top fish culturists will offer instruction on advanced culture techniques of Kentucky species in the Kentucky Aquaculture Association’s annual meeting and workshop March 5 at the Kentucky State University Aquaculture Research Center in Frankfort.
The workshop will cover best management practices from the latest research on freshwater prawn, tilapia, red claw crayfish, channel catfish, paddlefish, largemouth bass and hybrid striped bass. Marketing and disease issues and current research findings will be covered. The event will run from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. EST.
The workshop includes lunch and the Kentucky Aquaculture Association annual meeting, which will include the election of the Board of Directors.
A social event has been tentatively scheduled for March 4 for those who would like to come to Frankfort early and meet the visiting guests.
Registration is $20 for Kentucky Aquaculture Association members and $25 for non-members who register by March 1. After March 1, registration will be $25 for members and $30 for non-members. Registration fees include lunch.
