FRANKFORT, Ky. — Looking for a gift with a uniquely Kentucky flair? Stocking up for that special Christmas dinner? Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer encourages shoppers to buy Kentucky Proud for the holidays.
“When you give Kentucky Proud, or when you serve Kentucky Proud foods to your family, you tell your loved ones they deserve nothing but the best,” Commissioner Farmer said.
Kentucky Proud foods, crafts and other farm products are available in stores all over the Commonwealth. Some products can be purchased at the producer’s location or over the Internet. To find Web sites of Kentucky Proud producers, go to the Kentucky Department of Agriculture Web site at www.kyagr.com and click on the Country Store icon.
Some of the many retailers who carry Kentucky Proud products are offering Kentucky Proud holiday gift baskets. Stores that sell Kentucky Proud baskets include Paul’s, Doll’s and A Taste of Kentucky in Louisville, Remke Markets in northern Kentucky and Slone’s Signature Markets in Lexington and Morehead.
“Kentucky Proud gifts to friends and family in other states will show them some of the reasons we think the Commonwealth is so special,” Commissioner Farmer said. “For former Kentuckians who live elsewhere, Kentucky Proud gifts are a little piece of home for the holidays.”
