of the Office of State Veterinarian
The Division of Animal Health under the
guidance of the Office of the State Veterinarian
(OSV) currently monitors subparts E &
F of the National Poultry Improvement
Plan (NPIP). This includes waterfowl,
exhibition poultry, game bird breeding
flocks and ratites. A brief description
of each of those is:

- Exhibition
Poultry: Domesticated fowl
which are bred for the combined purposes
of meat or egg production and competitive
showing.
- Game birds:
Domesticated fowl such as pheasants,
partridge, quail, grouse and guineas,
but no doves and pigeons.
- Waterfowl:
Domesticated fowl that normally swim,
such as ducks and geese.

The OSV
is also taking an active role in distributing
information about poultry Bio-Security.
