About us
Locust Grove, a ca. 1790 Georgian mansion, restored and furnished to its original appearance and situated on 55 rolling acres just up river from downtown Louisville, tells the story of its builders, William and Lucy Clark Croghan. Here, as early settlers, the Croghans raised their family and made welcome General George Rogers Clark, founder of Louisville and conqueror of the Northwest Territory, as well as three presidents of the United States and explorers Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. Locust Grove, a National Historic Landmark, is a unique example of early Kentucky architecture, craftsmanship and history.
Directions
To get to Locust Grove from I-264 East exit at Brownsboro Road, turn left and go to Blankenbaker Lane, turn right and go about 1 1/2 miles. From Indiana take I-71 north to the Zorn Ave exit, turn left onto Zorn, the right onto River Road. At the next light turn right onto Blankenbaker Lane. The entrance is 1/2 mile up on the left.
