About us

Quiggins Chiangus is a family owned registered and commercial beef operation producing both market and breeding stock with an emphasis on muscle and structural correctness. We sell bulls and heifers to commercial and registerd operations. Our operation consists of 245 acres of rolling Kentucky land where we run 160 cows. We also raise tobacco, alfalfa hay, and pumpkins.

Our herdsires on the farm are JJCC Deion PCA, a Rush son out of YR Pollette 61B, and full brother to a two time Reserve National Champion;JJCC Rocket 2CA, another Rush son out of the great Mindale Sonnie cow. OHL Round Up 705L 2CA, an Impulse son, packed with meat that was Grand Champion Chiangus Bull at the 2002 Nebraska Cattlemen's Classic. We also purchased a Shorthorn bull from the C.F. Martin family of Hardyville. He was grand champion at the 2001 Kentucky Beef Expo and calf champion and Grand Champion at the West Virginia State Fair. A.I. sires: Hot Rod, Rush, Impulse, and Dry Ice, Warhorse, Who Made Who, Heat Seeker, and Shooby.

Our daughter has had great success and a lot of fun for several years in the showring with her Chiangus and Shorthorn heifers. QC Ms Cowgirl PCA a December '99 heifer we bred and raised was Res. Champion Ky owned Chiangus at the 2001 Ky Beef Expo, Champion at several local shows, Divison V Champion at the AJCA National Junior Heifer Show in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was also Senior Divison Champion at the 2001 Kentucky State Fair. The Shorthorn heifer, Martindell Clipper, a May 2000 heifer was also named Grand Champion at the Bardstown preview show and stood as Reserve Champion in other shows. She had an outstanding year in 2002 with her Chiangus heifer OHL Hottie. She was named KY Owned Champion Chiangus Heifer at the 2002 Ky Beef Expo, Supreme Champion at 2 preview shows, Chiangus Champion at 3 preview shows, class winner at the AJCA Jr. National, and Jr. Heifer Show Reserve Grand Champion at the Kentucky State Fair. We are very excited about the heifers that we will have in the showring in 2003. OHL Sizzl'n Hot PCA a Hot Rod daughter purchased from Wayne and Barb Ohlrichs, an Impulse daughter out of our herd, and a Heat Seeker daughter out of our Impulse cow, KJS Haley.
