FARM SAFETY

Our mission is to increase farm safety awareness and provide educational resources to ensure the safety of farmers and their families. The Kentucky Department of Agriculture's Farm and Home Safety Program conducts educational programs across Kentucky. Through the program's ATV Safety mock rescue, children can learn the importance of safe choices. It is a lesson that can make a difference between life or death. 

The Rollover Tractor Simulator program is the only of its kind in the nation. The simulator is made of a John Deere 4105 Compact Tractor bolted to a trailer that is 20 feet long and 8 feet wide. Pushing a button turns the tractor over, demonstrating the importance of using the Rollover Protective Structure (ROPS). The simulator is sponsored by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers; Kentucky Fire Commission, Fire/Rescue Training Office, Dixie Firefighters Association, and Wayne Supply Agri-Business Division, Challenger Tractors; and the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.
