Horticulture is the science, business and technology involved in plant cultivation for human use and consumption. It incorporates food plants and non-food crops like turf grass and ornamental plants.
PRODUCE MARKETING
Plant Marketing participates annually in the Kentucky Vegetable Growers Association and Horticulture Society meetings in Lexington and provides marketing assistance for Kentucky growers.

KENTUCKY HORTICULTURE THIRD PARTY GAP AUDIT COST-SHARE GRANT
Any Kentucky producer completing a third party Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) audit in 2019 may participate in the KHC cost share program. Cost share will be 75% of the audit cost up to a maximum reimbursement of $1,250 for 2019. To receive reimbursement producers must:
- - Be, or become, a member of Kentucky Proud through the Kentucky Department of Ag
- - Complete the application (listed in the right column under Forms & Documents as, "GAP Third Party Cost Share Application) and submit to the Kentucky Horticulture Council
Funds are limited for 2019. Application pre-approval is strongly encouraged but not required. Once the audit process is complete, submit a copy or image of the third party GAPs audit receipt. NOTE: Audited farm/producer, auditor, and certifying agency must clearly appear on the submitted invoice. The deadline for reimbursement submissions is December 15, 2019.
