Commissioner Comer, Mayor Fischer, Councilwoman Scott to launch 'Seed to Sale'

Agriculture Commissioner James Comer will join Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer, District 1 Councilwoman Attica Scott, and youth from the Parkland Boys and Girls Club to break ground on the Seed to Sale initiative on Wednesday, July 2, at 10:30 a.m. EDT at the Parkland club, 3200 Greenwood Ave., Louisville.

The Seed to Sale initiative is intended to teach young people about nutrition and how to grow, cook, market, and sell their own food. The Kentucky Department of Agriculture will carry out the program in cooperation with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana, Louisville Grows, and the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service. The program will be funded by proceeds from the May auction of rifles and knives purchased during the administration of former Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer.


The event is free and open to the public. Members of the news media are encouraged to attend.
