KFB Farmer of the Year nominations due July 1

Kentucky Farm Bureau

Kentucky farmers have until July 1 to submit nominations for Kentucky Farm Bureau Farmer of the Year.

The program was developed to recognize and encourage farmers who do an outstanding job on their farm, in their county Farm Bureau, and in their community. Each year, Kentucky Farm Bureau recognizes a state Farmer of the Year who has demonstrated service and leadership on and off the farm to strengthen Kentucky’s agriculture industry.

The top three applicants will be announced in mid-August. The state judges will visit the top three applicants' farms in mid-September. The state winner will be announced at the 2014 Kentucky Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in Louisville on Dec. 5.

The state winner will represent Kentucky in the Swisher Sweets/Sunbelt Ag Expo Southeastern Farmer of the Year Contest Oct. 20-22, 2015, in Moultrie, Ga.
