Lexington Farmers' Market voted eighth in nation, first in state

WASHINGTON - Lexington Farmers' Market was voted the eighth-best large market in the nation and Kentucky's top overall market in America's Favorite Farmers' Markets contest sponsored by American Farmland Trust.

Bluegrass Farmers' Market in Lexington finished second in the state and 13th nationally in the mid-sized market category. Community Farmers' Market in Bowling Green placed third in Kentucky and 20th nationally among mid-sized markets, which have 16-30 vendors. Large markets feature more than 55 vendors.

SKY Farmers' Market in Smiths Grove, Ky., placed fourth in the state and 16th nationally among medium-sized markets with 31-55 vendors.

Franklin County Farmers' Market finished fifth in the state.
