BOVINE: FEEDER (BEEF)


Import requirements

ALL STEERS & SPAYED HEIFERS:
  • Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days prior to entry
    • Unless moving directly to a state-federal approved stockyards - CVI not required
    • Unless moving to a Kentucky premises from an out-of-state livestock market, accompanied by a bill of sale or way bill - CVI not required
  • Official ID not required, head count and type shall be listed on CVI
  • Import Permit not required, unless traveling from MICHIGAN (see below)


ALL SEXUALLY INTACT CATTLE:
  • Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days prior to entry
  • Import Permit shall be obtained and recorded on CVI by issuing veterinarian at 502-573-0282 OR online HERE
  • LESS THAN 18 MONTHS: Official ID not required, head count and type shall be listed on CVI
  • 18 MONTHS & OLDER: USDA Official ID required (i.e. 840 series electronic tag, registration tattoo with papers, NUES tag are accepted if applied prior to November 5, 2024), ID listed on CVI or attached list
  • Special testing requirements for MICHIGAN (see below)


MICHIGAN:
  • Import Permit shall be obtained and recorded on CVI by issuing veterinarian at 502-573-0282
  • ALCONA/ALPENA/MONTMORENCY/OSCODA COUNTIES: Whole herd Tuberculosis (TB) test on all animals twelve (12) months of age and older within one (1) year of movement and incoming animal(s) two (2) months of age and older tested within sixty (60) days of entry, unless originating from an TB Accredited Herd.
