
Online Permitting System
How to obtain an Import Permit?
Cervids MUST obtain a permit by calling (502)-783-0282.
OPTION 1 for PAPER HEALTH CERTIFICATES
Accredited Veterinarians can use the Online Permitting System to obtain an Import Permit. The Online Permitting System is to be used for PAPER Health Certificates ONLY.

To gain access to the online permitting system, please send an email to statevet@ky.gov with the following information:
- Veterinarians name
- State and USDA accreditation numbers
- The type of CVIs being used
Emails will be reviewed and sent Monday-Friday 8 AM-4:30 ET.
Veterinarians with a current valid license and Category II accreditation will receive an email with a unique link for access to the online permitting system.
OPTION 2 for GVL/VSPS/VETSENTRY
Veterinarians who utilize GVL/VSPS/VetSentry, please call our office at 502-573-0282 for an import permit.
Those utilizing these electronic services do not need to use the online permitting system. The online permitting system is to be utilized for PAPER certificates only.
Reminders: All animals importing from Michigan must obtain a permit over the phone. Please call our office at 502-573-0282.
For exhibition purposes (excluding Michigan): cattle, sheep, goats and camelids do not need an import permit. If the animal has a possibility of being sold, please obtain a permit.
