
The Division of Show and Fair Promotion promotes Kentucky's livestock industry by sponsoring over 100 district, state, and national livestock shows and sales for youth and adult exhibitors. The division administers the Aid to Local Agricultural Fair Programs, which moniters 105 local county fairs in promoting and advancing Kentucky agriculture. The Kentucky Department of Agriculture provides premiums for these shows and programs totaling over $1 million dollars annually.

AT 2008 KENTUCKY PROUD POINTS AWARDS LUNCHEON
FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky’s top youth livestock exhibitors for 2008 were honored at the fifth annual Kentucky Proud Points awards luncheon Dec. 6 at the Frankfort Civic Center.
“I’m proud of every one of young people who received awards, and all the others who put forth the effort to participate in the Kentucky Proud Points Program this year,” Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer said. “This program cultivates the next generation of Kentucky producers and leaders. It’s one of the most important things the Kentucky Department of Agriculture does.”
