County Agricultural Development Council Membership & Resources
COUNTY AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT COUNCILS
County Agricultural Development Councils were established by the General Assembly in 2000 to develop local strategies for enhancing agricultural opportunities and assisting local farmers [KRS 248.721(7)].
COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLANS
The Kentucky Ag Development Board encourages county councils to discuss and develop creative, new ideas to improve Kentucky's agricultural economy at the regional level. Board Resolution (100 KB). In November 2014, the KADB called for an update to the county plans for 2015 and every five years thereafter. COUNCIL MEMBERSHIP
Each county has an 8 member county council which reviews applications and makes funding decisions to invest their County Agricultural Development Funds. Find your County Council Membership on the right menu bar.
2020-2022 County Agricultural Development Council member terms are set to expire June 30, 2022. Members who have served less than four consecutive years are eligible to be re-appointed/re-elected to the council for the 2022-2024 biennium.
The County Agriculture and Natural Resource Extension Agent (or designated person) collects the information for each appointing agency's representatives and submits along with the elected At Large members to KOAP prior to July 31, 2022. Formal communications will be sent out at the beginning of 2022 outlining the submission process and member eligibility. If changes are made prior to the end of the 2020-2022 term, the County ANR Extension Agent (or designated person) submits updated information, using the form below and noting who is being replaced.Council Member Update Form (2020-2022)

Call our office at 502-564-4627 or email KOAP@ky.gov to request a KOAP staff representative to attend your next County Agricultural Development Council meeting. Staff is available to provide an orientation to new council members and/or provide brief updates on any issues at the state level and answer any questions.
