2009 Winter/spring KY Beekeeping Schools
The Bluegrass Beekeeping School will hold their 6th annual beekeeping school at Kentucky State University in Frankfort, on March 14th. Dr. Rick Fell from Virginia Tech University will be our special guest speaker this year, and he will be joined by other speakers to be announced soon. This school is the oldest and largest of the beekeeping schools held in Kentucky, and will once again offer a fine program for beekeepers from Kentucky and surrounding states. The Bluegrass Beekeeping School is a joint effort of the Blue Grass Beekeepers Assoc., KY State University, and the KY Dept. of Agriculture.
And then April 1st - 4th, Kent Williams, president of the Lake Barkley Beekeepers Assoc. will host Lake Barkley's annual Beekeeping School. This annual school due to it's late date will contain a lot of hands on beekeeping, and will be held at Kent's farm in Wingo in Graves County. This is a four day school directed especially for the new beekeeper.
See each school listing for more information about that school. Information will be added as I receive it, and as plans for schools are finalized, so check back often.
