Dairy Nights at the Ballpark Are a Hit for Kentucky Farm Families
Dairy Producers Eligible for Free Tickets, T-shirts in Lexington and Bowling Green
FRANKFORT (May 29, 2019) — As part of a month-long Dairy Month celebration in June, Kentucky dairy farm families can get free tickets to Dairy Night festivities at two of the state’s minor league baseball parks.
Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington, home of the Class A Legends, an affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, will celebrate Kentucky Proud Dairy Night on June 11 at 7:05 p.m. EDT against the Augusta (Georgia) GreenJackets. Bowling Green Ballpark, home of the Class A Hot Rods in the Tampa Bay Rays farm system, will honor Kentucky’s dairy industry on June 13 at 6:35 p.m. CDT against the Fort Wayne (Indiana) TinCaps.
“Dairy Nights at the ballpark give all of us an opportunity to tip our caps and show our appreciation to our dairy farm families,” Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles said. “They work hard every day, along with everyone in Kentucky’s dairy industry who plays a role in providing the dairy products we depend on as part of a healthy diet.”
Kentucky dairy producers are eligible for up to four free tickets and two free dairy T-shirts per family. Additional tickets may be purchased in advance for $5 each. The deadlines to order tickets are June 4 for the Lexington game and June 8 for the Bowling Green game.
Dairy Night in Lexington is sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA), the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund, the Kentucky Dairy Development Council, The Dairy Alliance, and Prairie Farms Dairy. The T-shirts are sponsored by the American Dairy Association of Kentucky and The Dairy Alliance.
