Historic Midway, Kentucky has been home to the Midway Honey Company since 1992. My beehives are located throughout Central and Eastern Kentucky. The predominant nectar sources in Kentucky are sweet clovers (yellow and white), Dutch white clover (the type in your yard), black locust tree (found mainly in Central Kentucky), Tulip Poplar (Kentucky State Tree), sourwood tree and wildlflowers (crown and hairy vetch, wild sunflowers, goldenrod, and asters). Lighter colored honey is mild in flavor while darker honey tend to have more minerals and a stronger taste. Honey from clovers and black locust trees are the clearest and mildest honey that I produce. Sourwood is a light amber honey having a wonderfull taste and the distinction of being the only Kentucky honey that will never granulate. Tulip poplar and fall wildflowers are a light to medium amber color that are strong in flavor and can replace sugar in baking. In a typical year, a single beehive can produce approximately 60 pounds (5 gallons) of honey. Kentucky's honey is highly sought after by many people because of it's superb quality and limited availability. Major nectar sources bloom for only a few short months in the spring and in the fall.
***CROP POLLINATION*** I offer crop pollination for seasonal crops (melons, squash, pumpkins, gourds, etc.) and fruit bearing trees (apples, pears, etc.). Call me for a free site visit and quote to ensure you get maximum pollination efficiency. Remember, POLLINATION DOESN'T COST, IT PAYS.
***HONEY PRICING*** Ask me about wholesale honey prices on cases and bulk honey. I can also bottle with varoius types of lables to fit your customer needs. My facility and honey is inspected by the State of Kentucky and approved for commercial resale. I also sell established beehives for those interested in producing their own honey and raising their own bees. If managing your own bees doesn't sound appealing to you, then I offer a management service with payment on a hourly or honey basis.
