In order to make it possible for teachers to attend the workshop, KAEC provides the following:
$150 stipend for Saturday attendance
Project Food, Land and People (FLP) Resources for Learning
$75 to purchase resource materials (games, coloring books, puzzles)
$100 bonus for creating a teaching unit
Reimbursement of your school's substitute teacher during your absence
Ability to request a visit from the Mobile Science Activity Center for the school
Access to exciting classroom enrichment ideas and resource materials
Access to guest speakers, field trips and poster essay contest
The KAEC Program benefits the agriculture, environment and education by:
Creating a network for teachers to discuss agriculture and environment issues and how to incorporate those issues in their classrooms.
Supporting organizations and leaders in agriculture and environment in teaching their students about various topics.
Aiding teachers in involving their students in learning by providing hands-on experiments to encourage student participation and education about agriculture and the environment.
