This Division is responsible for the following programs:
Agriculture Education
Agriculture education in Kentucky strives to improve agricultural literacy by developing programs that increase consumer, educator and student awareness about agriculture and therefore instills an appreciation for our food and fiber system. This program includes the Kentucky Agriculture and Environment in the Classroom, Project Food, Land & People, Mobile Science Activity Unit, agriculture awareness programs for adults and children, and the annual Agriculture Day Poster and Essay contest.
Farm Safety
Our mission is to increase safety awareness and provide educational resources to ensure the safety of farmers and their families. This program provides statewide training for farm rescue, ROPS, Life & Death Reality program, the tractor rollover display and educational programs for school children.
Farmland Preservation
Farmland Preservation allows the state to purchase agricultural conservation easements in order to ensure that lands currently in agricultural use will continue to remain available for agriculture and will not be converted to other uses. Follow this link to find information about the PACE (Purchase Agricultural Conservation Easements) program that offers answers to questions about conservation easements, features and benefits of PACE and an application download.
