Evans Orchard, Georgetown

I hope everyone is enjoying this cooler weather.  These are perfect temperatures to curl up on the couch with a cup of our hot cider and mulling spices!   A hot fried apple pie or pumpkin spice donut would also make a great dessert.

Equus Run Concerts at the Vineyard Series Featured in Kentucky Tourism Video Podcast

Roll out the red carpet for the new stars at Equus Run...our staff and you, Friends of the Vineyard! The Kentucky Department of Tourism visited Equus Run for a Concert at the Vineyard and created a fascinating video podcast for use on their website, www.kentuckytourism.com, with great shots of you, your friends and family having fun, listening to great music, and enjoying wine at Equus Run. Focusing on Kentucky's burgeoning agri-tourism industry, the segment plays homage to Equus Run's popularity, longevity and success in Kentucky's wine industry. Talon Winery, Lexington

Friends of Talon, We have a wonderful event planned at Talon Winery this weekend. Below is more information. Arts D’Vine Wine, cheese, smooth jazz, and art. What a great way to spend the afternoon. Talon Winery and Vineyards along with Bluegrass Community and Technical College present “Arts D’Vine”, Saturday, December 1 from 12-6:00 pm. Enjoy award winning wines and two and three dimensional works from local and regional artists as you browse through the original 1790’s farm house located at 7086 Tates Creek Rd. in Lexington. A silent auction of works from exhibiting artist will be held during the exhibition. The show will also include light appetizers and smooth jazz provided by Mark Gardner. Wine is available for purchase during the show. Do your holiday shopping and pick some art and pick some wine at “Arts D’Vine. Admission is free. See you Saturday!

Old Crow Inn, Danville

Holiday Tea

To start the Holiday season, Old Crow Inn winery will host a formal Tea on Saturday December 8 at 2 PM in the Vineyard Room at the Chateau winery.  Reservations are required for the Tea with a Fee of $16.00.  Some of the items on the Tea Menu include:  Pecan Pie Squares, Amaretto Truffles and Cranberry Spiced Tea.

Agritainment and Market, Burlington

Kinman Farms Fall Festival takes place on a Northern Kentucky 150 acre, working farm.  School and private groups are welcome during the week and then open to the public on weekends.  We have a large petting zoo, hayrides to the pumpkin patch, ponyrides, a corn maze, a straw maze, bonfire, and many more fun activities for all ages.  We have just added a picnic shelter with concession and an outdoor "play area".  Come join us this fall season!

Springfield, Ky., November 27, 2007 – Members of the Central Kentucky Agritourism Association (CKAA) invite you to the farm to shop this Holiday Season. Your local Farms have a wide variety of locally made and produced merchandise ideal for Holiday Gifts.  Many of the CKAA Members are hosting FREE Holiday Open Farm Events which are listed on the CKAA Website: www.centralkyfarmsarefun.com as well as respective farm Websites.

Every CKAA Member will be featuring several discount specials ranging from 10%-50% OFF. As an extra incentive, CKAA is sponsoring, “Shop the Farm & WIN Sweepstakes” this holiday season. CKAA has twenty-eight participating Agritourism Member Farms across the 12 county region. A self-guided tour of these farms is available for tourists and open to the public. This includes the following counties: Adair, Anderson, Boyle, Bullitt, Green, LaRue, Marion, Mercer, Nelson, Spencer, Taylor, and Washington. Members feature farm tours, educational demonstrations, specials on fresh produce, herbs, wine, fiber products, honey, farm crafts, and more. Children’s activities will feature a wide variety of farm animals such as sheep, alpacas, llamas, goats, cows, donkeys, and horses too. Most Farm Members offer a Farm Store and will be showcasing produce and merchandise for sale this Holiday Season. Families are welcome to spend the day touring or extend your visit to the area with an overnight stay at one of the many fine Kentucky Farm Stay Bed & Breakfasts throughout the region.      

As an added incentive to visit multiple CKAA Farms, a Tour Rewards Card will be provided – after visiting 5 Member Farms, receive a FREE Kentucky Proud Gift.
