Governor's Office of Agricultural Policy

A new Web site, agweg.ky.gov, has been launched in an effort to highlight agriculture’s role in the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (September 25-October 10, 2010) and The Kentucky Experience. This Web site launch was featured in conjunction with promotion of the Games and The Kentucky Experience at the Governor’s Office of Agricultural Policy’s booth at the 2009 Kentucky State Fair.

“This Web site will provide the agricultural community as well as the general public a central location to obtain information related to involvement in The Kentucky Experience and the Games,” said Angela Blank, World Equestrian Games Agricultural Liaison and Director of Public Affairs for GOAP. “This is an opportunity for us to promote our agricultural heritage and show the quality of Kentucky Proud products to the world. We are excited to be working closely with First Lady Jane Beshear, the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, Tourism, Alltech and many others on this once-in-a-lifetime event.”

During the games, The Kentucky Experience will be providing an opportunity for guests to experience all the sights, sounds and tastes of Kentucky without having to leave the Horse Park. This includes an interactive facility where you can learn everything about our state from our agricultural heritage, to the many tourism destinations Kentucky has to offer.

Kentucky agriculture has a unique opportunity to be featured in the “Product Pavilion” area of The Kentucky Experience. Here guests will be able to learn about Kentucky’s rich agricultural heritage and purchase Kentucky Proud products including food, art, wine, bourbon, and much more. Highlights of Kentucky Proud product samplings and demonstrations in the Product Pavilion will also be scheduled.

Information pertaining to participation in the Product Pavilion and the selling of Kentucky Proud products will be posted on agweg.ky.gov as it becomes available.
