Registration now being accepted for 2011 Governor's Office of Agricultural Policy Conference

The Governor’s Office of Agricultural Policy (GOAP) is pleased to announce that registrations for the 2011 GOAP Conference are now being accepted. The conference will be held Thursday, February 10 at the Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green.

“This event brings together agricultural leaders and others to exchange ideas and learn about opportunities created by the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund (KADF) and the Kentucky Agricultural Finance Corporation loan programs,” said Roger Thomas, GOAP Executive Director. “This year we are excited to unveil a new KADF logo and feature breakout sessions offering a wide variety of topics for our guests, including energy, local food initiatives, program policies and loan programs.”

U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has been invited to provide the keynote address to open the conference. Wrapping up the conference will be Steve Flick president of Show Me Energy Cooperative located in Missouri. Other event highlights include a tradeshow, Kentucky product samples, policy and program updates, and an Awards Luncheon recognizing those who have exemplified outstanding rural leadership.

The early registration deadline for the 2011 GOAP Conference is 4:30 p.m. Friday, January 14. Early registration is $30 per person. For those registering after January 14 the cost is $45 per person.
