Documentary celebrates Kentucky's grape and wine industry
KAN staff report
A documentary that honors Kentucky’s past in grape and wine production and features many of the Commonwealth’s present-day producers will have its premiere next month.
“Vintage Kentucky: The Vine to Wine Experience” will air Nov. 5 at 10:30 p.m. EST on KET1. It will be rebroadcast on KET1 and its sister stations.
The program chronicles Kentucky’s history as the site of the first commercial vineyard in the United States and one of the leading grape and wine producing states in the country in the 19th century. “Vintage Kentucky” captures the tradition of Kentucky’s grape and wine industry and the passion of the people who have rebuilt it from a handful of wineries a decade or so ago to more than 50 today.
“Vintage Kentucky: The Vine to Wine Experience” was produced in cooperation with the Kentucky Grape and Wine Council and the Kentucky Department of Agriculture; produced by New West Agency LLC of Louisville and The PPS Group of Covington with field production contributions from Post Time Productions in Lexington; and edited by The PPS Group.
