I am Kentucky Proud. Why you may ask? I am proud because every summer at the Farmers’ Market my father sells yellow and green tomatoes; potatoes; cabbages; bell, banana, and jalapeno peppers; watermelon; corn; beans; cantaloupe; zucchini; and honeydew melons. This makes me proud because he has grown his own produce on our farm. Daddy sells this produce from the farm, in big orders to people and at the local farmer’s market.
I even helped him set up the booth. During the summer I help my father sell his products. I was surprised at how many people came out to buy fresh grown produce. I get up early every Saturday morning to help my dad sell at the farmer market, but dad is always up before me to make sure we have enough produce to sell for that day. When I get up on Saturday morning to sell I put on my bright orange t-shirt that has my name and my dad’s business logo on it.

In the summer when dad is bagging his produce, he puts a Kentucky Proud logo sticker on each box. When my family puts produce in bags at the farmers market, those bags have a Kentucky Proud logo on them. I am proud to see the same people come back each week to buy more fresh grown fruits and vegetables. This farmer’s daughter is proud of Kentucky and proud of her daddy.
