Jean Farris Winery and Bistro taking a taste of Kentucky food and wine to New York City

FRANKFORT, Ky. — The James Beard Foundation has invited Lexington’s Jean Farris Winery and Bistro to bring a taste of Kentucky to New York City.

The five-course dinner, headlined as “Kentucky Wine Estate,” will be served Thursday, Aug. 11 at the James Beard House in Greenwich Village. The meal will showcase the pairing of Jean Farris’ internationally-awarded Kentucky wines, including a new sparkling wine called Constellations released just for this occasion, with the uniquely Kentucky dishes of executive chef Justin Thompson that are a staple of Jean Farris’ bistro.

The James Beard Foundation has long been recognized as the driving force in the discovery and promotion of top chefs and emerging food trends in the U.S. Its mission is to celebrate, preserve, and nurture all the many facets food plays in American culture. The Foundation maintains the historic James Beard House to showcase the country’s most talented chefs, wine makers, cookbook authors, and teachers.

In preparation for the event, Jean Farris will host a preview dinner on July 28 at the winery at 6825 Old Richmond Road in Lexington. The cost of the preview dinner is $80 and includes wine pairing. Advance reservation is required by calling (859) 263-WINE (9463) or visiting www.jeanfarris.com.
