Recommendations on the use of honeybee disease medications & pest control products
Always follow directions on labels of honeybee medications and pest control products!
Avoid preventative treatment for honeybee diseases & pests! There is no such thing as preventative treatment - antibiotics and pesticides are NOT vaccines. If disease or pests are not present, these products will do nothing. Treat only if you have a problem, determined by sampling or obvious symptoms of disease or pests.
When using products for control of honeybee pests that are fumigants, pay special attention to temperature requirements of these products.
When using varroa mite control products, ALWAYS remove material from hive, after the prescribed treatment period per label instructions.
