Avian Health

This testing is done in compliance with the National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) program of which KDA is the Official State Agency for subparts E & F.

However, additional objectives of the KDA are to:

  • Conduct surveillance at swap meets, small auctions, flea markets and other poultry venues
  • Detect and contain avian diseases
  • Promote biosecurity through education & outhreach
  • Protect animal and human health
  • Support the economic vitality of the poultry industry
