Commissioner Quarles Urges Kentucky Couples to Make Kentucky Proud Part of Their Wedding Day
Campaign Will Show How to Give That Special Day a Unique Kentucky Flavor
FRANKFORT (Feb. 14, 2018) — Want to show that you’re Kentucky Proud on your special day? Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles has launched a campaign to encourage couples to make Kentucky Proud a central part of their wedding plans.
“Kentuckians have a special sense of pride in their home, so it’s only natural for couples to show their love for their Commonwealth on the happiest day of their lives,” Commissioner Quarles said. “In the weeks and months to come, we will carry out a promotional campaign to show couples how Kentucky Proud can take some of the stress out of wedding planning and help them make memories that will last a lifetime.”
Many of Kentucky’s more than 650 agritourism destinations are equipped to help couples arrange the farm wedding of their dreams. Kentucky Proud producers and businesses offer delicious local foods, spectacular flowers and plants, and unique Kentucky gifts. By buying Kentucky Proud, couples can help Kentucky farm families and small businesses grow and prosper.
The promotional campaign will open with messages at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville this week and will continue with social media posts and future announcements. Details for the first Kentucky Proud Wedding Contest will be released later this spring. In the meantime, Commissioner Quarles encourages couples to post their Kentucky Proud wedding plans and pictures on Facebook (@kentuckyag, @kentuckyproud), Twitter (@kentuckyag, @kyproudofficial), and Instagram (@kentuckyag, @kentuckyproud).
