JULY
Time Is Running Out to Enter Your Exhibits at the Kentucky State Fair
KDA, UK, State Fair Team Up to Transport Exhibits to Louisville
FRANKFORT (July 1, 2019) — July 1 is the deadline to enter exhibits at the 2019 Kentucky State Fair at the regular fee of $15 per exhibitor. You still can enter your best preserves, crafts, honey, vegetables, and other exhibits until July 10, but it will cost you $20. Exhibitors must mail a general entry form or enter online at kystatefair.org/participate/compete/.
For the second year in a row, the state fair, the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, and the University of Kentucky (UK) Cooperative Extension Service will transport exhibits to Louisville from five locations across the Commonwealth.
“Getting to the state fair is a challenge for many Kentuckians who live far from Louisville or who have transportation issues,” Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles said. “This service will enable many people to participate in their state fair where they otherwise might not be able to. We are pleased to once again work with our partners at UK and the Kentucky State Fair to provide this service.”
To participate in the drop-off service,exhibitors need to contact a drop-off site between July 10 and 29 after submitting their entry form and fee. Exhibits must be delivered to a drop-off location from July 29 to Aug. 6 from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. local time. KDA employees are scheduled to deliver the exhibits to the Kentucky Exposition Center by Aug. 9.
The drop-off locations are:
• the Christian County Extension Office in Hopkinsville;
• the Laurel County Extension Office in London;
• the McCracken County Extension Office in Paducah;
• the Montgomery County Extension Office in Mt. Sterling; and
• the Taylor County Extension Office in Campbellsville.
The program does not include 4-H and FFA exhibits. Members must go through those organizations to exhibit.
