About the Plate
The Kentucky Department of Agriculture is excited to announce the new “Friends of Kentucky Agriculture” specialty license plate. In addition to the current farm license plate, which allows farmers engaged in crops, livestock, or dairy production to purchase and support agriculture, the new specialty Friends of Kentucky Agriculture license plate will also support Kentucky 4-H, Kentucky FFA, and Kentucky Proud programs. It will be available for any driver in the state of Kentucky to purchase, not only production farmers. If you already have a farm plate, we encourage you to keep and renew it next March. For all other agriculture supporters, we encourage you to consider purchasing the Friends of Kentucky Agriculture plate in early 2026.
About the Contest
As the Friends of Kentucky Agriculture Plate will directly benefit 4-H clubs and FFA chapters across the Commonwealth, we encourage student members to help bring Kentucky agriculture to our roads by designing the new Friends of Kentucky Agriculture license plate. This contest is open to all active 4-H and FFA members and is open June 1, 2025 – Sept. 5, 2025. A winner, who will receive a $500 award, will be selected and announced by Oct. 1, 2025. Friends of Kentucky Agriculture plates will be available for purchase at the beginning of 2026. Please see the right-hand column for specifications for the license plate design, rules, and logos.
