‘Serving Up Solutions’ dinner to benefit agencies that help state’s hungry set for Jan. 31
Tickets on sale now for seats, sponsorships
FRANKFORT (Dec. 19, 2023) - Tickets for the sixth-annual Serving Up Solutions dinner are now on sale. Proceeds from the dinner, which started as a fundraiser for agencies across the state who provide resources for those who are food insecure, benefits Feeding Kentucky, Kentucky Hunters for the Hungry (KHFH), and Glean Kentucky.
In Kentucky, one in eight people, including one in six children, lack consistent access to enough food for a healthy, active lifestyle. Rising inflation and economic hardships are increasing the demands on food banks across the state and the agencies that provide food or services to those who are in need. Fundraisers, such as the Serving Up Solutions dinner, provide a way for people to give to those who can help. Since 2018, the Serving Up Solutions dinner has raised more than $150,0000 for Feeding Kentucky, KHFH, and Glean Kentucky.
The 2024 dinner will bring together a bipartisan cross-section of Kentucky leaders who will serve as celebrity wait staff for guests. Guests are treated to an unforgettable evening of delicious food and great company and contribute to the fight against hunger in Kentucky.
"Serving Up Solutions is a special opportunity for business leaders and community members to join together with legislators to raise awareness about food insecurity,” said Melissa McDonald, Executive Director of Feeding Kentucky. “It is an honor to be working alongside our partners, Glean Kentucky and Kentucky Hunters for the Hungry to work to end hunger in Kentucky!"
“With funds from events such as the Serving Up Solutions annual dinner, Kentucky Hunters for the Hungry has been able to expand its mission of aiding those across the commonwealth who are in need of food throughout the year,” said Roger LaPointe, KHFH executive director. “We could not have accomplished that growth without the support of those who volunteer for these events or those who purchase tickets and sponsorships. Working together we can all make a difference.”
“Serving Up Solutions has been a vital event for Glean Kentucky for several years, helping us forge invaluable connections with many of our state's legislators as we work to grow our mission of reducing food waste and food insecurity throughout the commonwealth,” said Ben Southworth, executive director of Glean Kentucky.
This year’s benefit dinner is set for Jan. 31, 2024, at 6 p.m. EST at the Frankfort Country Club. Tickets for the event are $125 per person. Sponsorship tables can also be purchased at various levels. For ticket information, please visit: classy.org/event/serving-up-solutions/e538093
