Dairy Nights at the Ballpark Are a Home Run for Kentucky Farm Families
Dairy Producers Eligible for Free Tickets to Games in Bowling Green and Lexington
FRANKFORT (May 21, 2018) — Kentucky dairy farm families can get free tickets to the ballpark for Dairy Night festivities at two minor league parks in June as part of a month-long Dairy Month celebration.
Bowling Green Ballpark, home of the Class A Hot Rods, will honor Kentucky’s dairy industry on June 7 prior to the Hot Rods’ game against the Lansing (Michigan) Lugnuts. Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington, home of the Class A Legends, will celebrate Kentucky Proud Dairy Night on June 12 as the Legends host the Columbia (South Carolina) Fireflies.
“Our dairy farm families work hard every day, so I’m pleased that we can show our appreciation with these Dairy Night events,” Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles said. “As we head into Dairy Month, we tip our caps to everyone in Kentucky’s dairy industry who plays a role in producing the dairy products we depend on as part of a healthy diet.”
Kentucky dairy producers are eligible for up to four free tickets and two free dairy T-shirts per family. Additional tickets are $5 each. The deadlines to order tickets are May 31 for the Bowling Green game and June 5 for the Lexington game.
The Dairy Nights are sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA), the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund, the Kentucky Dairy Development Council, the Dairy Alliance, the American Dairy Association of Kentucky, and Prairie Farms Dairy. The T-shirts are sponsored by the American Dairy Association of Kentucky and The Dairy Alliance.
